Weight: Our typical transport chair weights less than 50 pounds, and is able to accommodate users weighing up to 265 pounds.
Measurement: For seat widths, we have wheelchairs available in widths of 16 inches, 18 inches, and 20 inches. We can help you choose the best width for your unique situation.
Seat height: On average, there is about 18 inches of height between the power wheelchair seat, and the ground. If necessary, for your convenience we can adjust the height between the seat and the ground, on some models.
Our power wheelchairs come equipped with footrests as a standard option. These composite footrests provide the needed support for the wheelchair users legs while in transit. Ask your friendly Mobility Rentals Representative about other accessories available on demand, such as cushions, and gloves.
We have two types of seats. The more common is a type of washable nylon that is able to retain its strength and support wheelchair users. It is washable (and regularly washed). Some of our other electric chairs have a seat that is made of a easy clean vinyl. You may receive either, they are equally comfortable and appropriate for use on a power wheeelchair.

It helps to know the width of the wheelchair users widest point. This is usually around the hip area. The reason you may want to know this is because the size of the wheelchair seat we may recommend will depend on the size of the wheelchair user. For the most part we have chairs available to fit a range of sizes.
Each wheelchair is designed to accommodate a specific amount of weight. While we do not need to know the wheelchair users exact weight, it will be helpful to you to know that most basic transport chairs have a weight limit of no more than 275 – 300 pounds. When a wheelchair user requires more support than the basic transport chair would provide, we would recommend looking at the bariatric transport chair. Bariatric transport chairs are designed to hold quite a bit more weight, and as a result can be used by a wider range of wheelchair users.
