Of course, the only caveat is that they have to be serving the Toronto area.

Disclaimer: Before you read ahead, full disclosure – We rent wheelchairs in Toronto too! We deliver comfortable well maintained wheelchairs to your door, and we are more than happy to help you organize a wheelchair rental.

Also of note: the list here is in no particular order. Without further ado, here’s the Master List of every single place you can rent a wheelchair in Toronto!

Westin Healthcare

Westin Healthcare is a general purpose medical equipment retailer, who also rents wheelchairs in Toronto. While they do not offer online booking, they seem to have the four main types of wheelchairs available for rent (transport wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, tilt wheelchairs, and motorized wheelchairs). While they are located outside Toronto, they seem to be able to support deliveries of wheelchair rentals to Toronto. (Though, on the other side of the coin, this may make it more challenging for you to actually pick up and return the rental wheelchair to them, since they are not located inside the City of Toronto).

One thing interesting about Westin Healthcare: Their available rental periods are different, based on the type of wheelchair you want to rent. For example, while transport chairs and power wheelchairs are available for rent in periods as low as 1 week, other chairs like their manual chairs and tilt chairs seem to be available only for periods of 1 month or more. This is one thing to keep in mind, as if you require a rental for just a week or two, or some other random duration (like 10 days), they may not be the ideal choice. Ultimately, it depends on your specific rental needs.

Canada Care Medical

Canada Care Medical is the second option on our list. They are an interesting option, in the sense that they seem to operate both in Ottawa, as well as Toronto/ the GTA. However, since they clearly serve Toronto, we have included them in this list. Based on their website, they have the following types of chairs available for rent:

  1. Child wheelchair
  2. Transport wheelchair
  3. Manual wheelchair
  4. Electric wheelchair

Like many of the other vendors listed here, they do not necessarily specialize in wheelchair rental. Additionally, no pricing is listed on their website, and they do not seem to offer online booking. The Canada Care Medical website also indicates that the minimum rental period is monthly for the rental wheelchair equipment listed on their website.

Mobility Specialties

Mobility Specialties seems to be based out of the north/ west side of Toronto. Like the majority of the vendors on this list, they are not necessarily “wheelchair specialists”, in the sense that they sell a whole range of items and provide a range of services which also includes rental of their wheelchair equipment.

They seem to have an online wheelchair rental booking system, but it appears that it is designed to send an enquiry to the vendor for followup later (as opposed to actually taking payment and reserving a wheelchair). Their minimums, etc are clear however: You are looking at a one week rental period as the base, going up from there. Due to their location on the upper west side of the city, prospects looking of a wheelchair rental on the middle and east side of town may opt for another provider.

Baby to Senior

While they specialize in more than just wheelchairs, Baby to Senior will be included in this list. Their location is showing on the edge of Toronto, sitting right close to Mississauga; this positions them to serve the west end of Toronto really well with wheelchair rentals. For some reason, their prices seem to be a little bit on the lower side, when the average wheelchair rental pricing is considered. Their website is designed to accept payment via PayPal, and you can rent other things related to baby and senior healthcare. If you are on the east side of the City of Toronto, you may consider a different vendor if you want to drive and pick up your wheelchair rental, as it may be a bit of a trek to the other side of the city. If you are in Mississauga reading this, you may be able to take advantage of their location to get a wheelchair rental in Mississauga as well.

EmerDepot Medical Supplies

EmerDepot describe themselves as a general purpose medical equipment and supplies retailer, operating out of Toronto. Was with most off the other businesses listed on this page, they do not necessarily specialize in renting wheelchairs. However, if you need to rent a wheelchair, off the other businesses listed on this page, they do not necessarily specialize in renting wheelchairs. However, if you need to rent a wheelchair, their website does indicate that they have them in stock. Their pricing seems to be a little bit on the higher end, however, it is worth checking out for the purpose of comparison. Their main location is west of Allen Road in Toronto. They also have other medical supplies such as ostomy supplies, incontinence supplies, wound care, and more. This means they are not a specialist, per se, but an interesting generalist option to consider for sure.

Med Nation

Even though they are located in Oakville, Med Nation delivers to the Toronto area. They have a fulsome set of wheelchairs available for rent. their inventory list shows tilt wheelchairs, reclining wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, transport chairs, and even bariatric wheelchairs. Their prices are basically average, middle of the road for what you would expect wheelchair rentals to be priced at. Med Nation also has other medical equipment items on sale. If you find yourself in a situation where you have multiple compounding medical needs, a supplier like Med Nation could be a good choice for a local supplier, particularly if you are in the north or western side of the city of Toronto.
